Beef Rub
(Roast, Prime Rib or Steak)
Prep time: 5 Minutes
Makes 6 Servings
Cook Time: Varies depending on cut (see below)
Bring roast to room
temperature. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare shallow roasting pan by
spraying with a non stick cooking spray or coat with oil. Place roast in
pan fat side up. To prevent splattering, rub a little flour on fat before
seasoning. Sprinkle seasonings on all sides of meat.
ROAST COOKING
DIRECTIONS:
Keeping heat @ 425 degrees, place in oven uncovered 10-15 minutes per
pound.
*OPTION 2:
Reduce heat to 250 degrees and cook 10-20 minutes per pound.
Using a thermometer, the
internal temperatures should read;
Rare 110-120
degrees
Medium Rare 120-130 degrees
Medium 130-140 degrees
Medium Well 145-155 degrees
Well Done 160 degrees
Times will vary
depending on size and cut. Internal temperature will continue to rise
5-10 degrees once removed from oven.
STEAK DIRECTIONS:
Use 2 teaspoons per pound of meat. Preheat grill or broiler.
Depending on thickness; cook approximately 4-8 minutes for rare, 10-14
minutes for medium and 16-20 minutes for well done, turning once.
